Frequently Asked Questions

Does my tutor come to my home?

Yes, we deliver sessions in your home so students are comfortable and familiar, and to save you another taxi run! The team can deliver sessions online during Government restrictions relating to Coronavirus.

Do sessions follow the National Curriculum?

Yes, we follow the National Curriculum ‘programme of study’ that your child is covering at school, however we work at each child’s own pace.

What is the cost of sessions?

Sessions are £35/hour and are paid weekly at the end of the hour lesson using our card reader machines. We schedule a regular weekly time slot.

Does the same tutor come each week?

Yes, your child is matched with their tutor, who then delivers sessions each week, dedicated to getting to know your child and building a fantastic bond.

Will my child enjoy sessions?

Absolutely! Fun and games are at the core of our learning ethos. Sessions cover a wide variety of different interactive activities designed to motivate and engage your child. Our priority is ensuring the children look forward to our time together, feel happy and comfortable, and enjoy that specialised time just for them!

How do we work towards my child’s progress?

Without making any guarantees about something as important as your child’s education, you tutor will be doing everything in their power to help build your child’s confidence, academic improvement and skills.

Do you work in the school holidays?

Yes, we are flexible, and sessions can continue in the holidays, working around if/when both you and your tutor may be away. Equally, some families prefer a break from sessions.

What are your backgrounds?

Some of us are current classroom teachers, teaching assistants and fully trained tutors. Others are retired from our educational profession within schools. We are all trained in the National Curriculum, and completely adore working with and supporting children.

How do we get feedback?

Your tutor will give you a brief outline of what has been covered each week before they head off home or to their next lesson. We are contactable outside of lessons if there is anything you need a longer conversation to discuss. We also provide termly progress reports and set targets for the next term.

What are your terms and conditions?

Once we have matched you with your tutor and you have secured your slot, we will send you our T&Cs to read and sign. We ask that parents are mindful that their tutor prepares and creates the lesson each week with their child in mind. Therefore, we ask that parents provide us with as much notice if they need to cancel a lesson due to sickness or other unforeseen circumstances. Your tutor will do the same.
